Happy New Year everyone!  Remember how I said I was going to be taking a break from crafts to avoid the mess over the holidays?  Well, that has brought me to the computer instead.  So over the holidays I squeezed in some time exploring other blogging software and capabilities.  As a result, I have moved to my own domain address!!!  So if you are one of the crazy people that enjoys my blog please come check me out at http://www.inspiremecrafts.com/ !

There are so many other things I can do with this software so as I figure them out I will be adding them.  One of the things I am excited about is that I can sell some of my craft projects directly from my site through PayPal.  That way if someone doesn’t feel like making the project, but they really want it they can purchase it from the sidebar.  I played with this the other day and there are a few glitches to figure out, but once I do it will be up and running!

Anyway, I am excited about the new site so please go check it out and let me know what you think.  Plus, I have started more projects so they are starting to get posted for your enjoyment and inspiration.

Take Care!

Be inspired, get creative, and have fun!!!

It’s that time..the in-laws have arrived and the guests keep coming!  So as a result I am trying to minimize my messes (if that is possible) and spend as much time with my family.  And how do I do that?  No projects…:(.  Sorry.  I’ll be back though after Christmas to share some more ideas and things I am up to.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and continue to be inspired, get creative, and have fun with your loved ones!

Merry Christmas!

Take care and I can’t wait to share more ideas with you!

Family Time & Looking Ahead to Next Week October 27, 2007

“Friends are the family we choose for ourselves”

Today I’m enjoying this gorgeous weather with my family and I hope you are too.  My husband’s crazy work schedule has finally allowed us to have him the whole weekend to ourselves and we will most definitely take advantage of every minute!  However, we’ve quickly forgotten how much longer a “To-Do” list takes when you have a toddler around.

I hope you have enjoyed all the Halloween ideas, but I am ready to move forward to the other upcoming holidays and events!  In November I will be travelling back to Washington for a wedding and my best friend’s daughter’s 1st birthday (pheeww..that was a mouthful).  So needless to say I have got some presents to get crackin on.  Hopefully, if my “To-Do” list goes as planned I will be able to get those gifts done today! I have some fabulous ideas for the perfect gift for weddings and kids that I just can’t wait to share.  So be sure to check back with us on Monday!

Until then – have a fabulous weekend, be inspired, get creative, and have fun!

Family Time October 13, 2007

This weekend is all about spending time with the family!  I wish it included a day at the beach, but with my husband throwing out his back this week, it will include more waiting on not only my toddler, but my husband.  I am not sure what it is, but it is so much easier for me to be nurturing to my son.  I am trying as hard as I can to be patient with them both…so we’ll see what the weekend brings us.

Check back on Monday for some Halloween fun!  We’ll have a myriad of ideas all focusing on the upcoming holiday for next week.  Until then consider using http://www.shutterfly.com/ or http://www.mypublisher.com/ to make a quick photobook of one of your family outings or even for a professional portfolio of your work.  Its so quick and easy and reasonably priced….and it showcases those wonderful photos instead of throwing them in a photo box.   Here is the link if you want to look at my latest one when we took our son to the Apple Orchard by our house.  http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0AbNWrVm4YuGLiI¬ag=1

Have a wonderful weekend and see you on Monday!

Gotta Make It: Flower Pot Placecard October 12, 2007

Filed under: Entertaining, Gotta Make It, What's In a Name? — inspiremecrafts @ 6:00 am

“Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease left a name worth remembering.”  – Theodore Roosevelt

It’s Friday and its time to have those friends and family over for a good ‘ole hearty meal!  For a quick and colorful setting consider using a piece of your favorite scrapbook paper as the placemat.  Then top it with some of your favorite dishes.  The red square plate is one of my favorite dishes and was found at TJ Maxx…gotta love that place!  The green flower plate was found at my other favorite shopping spot – Target.  Since this was last minute ( I wouldn’t do it any other way) I looked around the house to find the supplies for the place card.  I cut out a flower from some scrapbook paper, stuck a pin through it and put it into the mini pot and voila!  You have a quick and easy place setting that cost you so little!

Enjoy your family and friends this weekend and let those creative juices flow!

Gotta Make It…with the kids: My Very Own Crayon Holder October 11, 2007

“It’s not how big your pencil is; its how you write your name”

As my toddler continues to grow, I find myself always looking for more storage ideas.  My latest problem?  Crayons….everywhere!

I imagined myself using a nice stark white box with a lid that opens…it would be the perfect “blank canvas”. The box can easily be found at Michaels for as little as $1.99, but I was just too busy to go to Michaels.  Ok, ok, ok…you caught me in a lie.  I had plenty of time to go, I just didn’t feel like getting in my car to go there.  The car for me use to be a sanctuary…a time for ME.  Now it looks like a tornado came through and left McDonalds, Subway, Starbucks, and Toddler snacks as proof (I still can’t figure out where that rotten smell is coming from).  It needed to be avoided for my sanity!  So needless to say I started the scavenger hunt around my house to find something that I could use.  It was a blessing in disguise because it really does prove that you do a project with almost anything.  If you don’t have a large budget it doesn’t matter….just be creative!  No one can put a price tag on that.

If your kids are old enough they would love livening up a plain tin can with their own unique touch…and name, of course.  Since my 17 month is just a little young I will take the pleasure of decorating one for him.   You could even use this idea for a back to school party and have everyone decorate it themselves.  Use this opportunity to sit down with your kids and enjoy each other’s company.  Ask them what they think about today’s quote and share with them how it has affected your life.

Be inspired, get creative, and have a blast!
