“Love overflows and joy never ends in a home thats blessed with family and friends”
I am getting so anxious to go see our family and friends next week! We’ll be there for my God-daughter’s first birthday so I have been busy making gifts in order to spoil her when we see her. I wanted to get her some cute personalized clothes without breaking the bank so I went with doing it myself…imagine that!
I started out with this brown jacket. You won’t believe the price I got on this and it is so soft! I went to my local fabric store and the rhinestone “J” is an iron-on! It was about $2 and was super easy and quick. I then took the adorable pink and brown polka-dot ribbon and slid it through the hole on the zipper. I attached it at the ends with Stitch Witchery. Stitch Witchery is a fusible bonding web that allows you to do hems, trims, and belts without sewing…just ironing! This is great stuff for the person with their sewing machine in the box right now. 🙂 Now she’ll be a stylin 1-year old with the cutest monogrammed baby jacket that her mommy’s friends will think she got from a designer store.
But of course I didn’t want to stop there so I decided to make the jeans match the jacket with a small detail. I took that same pink and brown ribbon and attached it to the belt loops to add a little spunk to the baby jeans.
And my last clothing experiment was a monogrammed onesie. I also found this iron-on letter at my local fabric store and it came in a pack with the whole alphabet. The cool thing about this one, besides the adorable flowers, is that it is frolicked. So the monogramm is raised up and is that soft felty type feel. Again, super easy and was super inexpensive with the deal that I got on this turtle neck onesie.
I had a lot of fun experimenting with some of these new products. Most of the stuff I did was new to me, but I found it to be super easy and quick!
Be inspired, get creative, and have fun!
See you tomorrow!!!
